Solar Energy Efficiency & New Developments For Solar Energy Efficiency

Solar Energy Efficiency – New Developments For Solar Energy Efficiency

The emergence of Solar Energy

The sun is a source of heat and light has proved to us how great the energy it possesses. The researchers measured the power obtained from the sun with the new developments. With the help of hard data, the scientists have concluded that the solar source will never deplete. In other words, the current age and lifetime of the sun are higher than we could ever imagine.

In history, as the human population increased, so did their needs. Therefore, an inverse proportion has broken out between resources and inhabitants. For this reason, people have been searching for new energy sources.

Since solar energy does not deplete and does not create any strategic problems has raised the interest of the solar energy industry. You should also consider the cost and efficiency of solar energy. Stated in other words, the charge of the energy output must meet the production of this energy. Otherwise, this production will do more harm than good. For this purpose, experts do their research before conducting any study. They calculate the resources required and make studies to obtain this profit.

Researchers examine the importance of solar energy, which is very important for countries, and the cost of other resources. However, the essential point to consider is that even if the price of depleted resources is low, the supply will end sooner or later. And consuming an energy source will not be beneficial.

Benefits of Solar Energy

Solar energy is beneficial because of its efficiency. The efficiency of solar energy used in areas such as heating and electricity is crucial. It is necessary to consider how much solar the country receives during a year to measure the effectiveness of solar energy. Knowing how much sunny day a country gets helps us to calculate the efficiency of the country in terms of solar power. In addition to the possible duration of sunshine, the condition of the solar panels is also mattering.

Economics of Solar Energy

As opposed to the other energy sources, such as oil, coal, and natural gas, solar energy is considered to be more solar power advantageous. The reason why it is beneficial is that it creates a strategic position compared to other countries.

Moreover, with the advancement of technology, this economy will become even more powerful. So there is no such thing as ending, and the energy obtained from the sun will renew itself every day. Considering these conditions, we can say that the connection between solar energy cost and efficiency is positive.

The solar panels provide the conversion of solar power into electrical energy. After the production of solar panels, the process of obtaining energy from the sun became the cheapest. The cost of solar panel production is reduced to increase energy efficiency. In this way, the use of solar power means that both people and nature benefit.

Two Companies Break the Solar Panel Efficiency Record

In recent days, two distinct companies have broken two notable records in solar energy. Solar panel manufacturer JinkoSolar has reached a brand-new record with 22.04 per cent efficiency in P-type polycrystal silicon cells, the most widely used type of solar cells. Almost simultaneously, another record came from the solar research facility Fraunhofer ISE. Fraunhofer ISE also achieved a productivity record of 22.3 per cent in N-type polycrystal cells.

Polycrystal solar cells are the type of solar cells used today in most of the solar panels installed around the world. Today, polycrystal solar panels account for 60 per cent of the global solar panel production capacity.

Polycrystal solar panels offer 15 – 16.5 per cent efficiency, while monocrystal (single crystal) solar panels, this ratio increases to 18 – 22 per cent. Polycrystal solar panels are more economical than monocrystal panels. Because of that, the producers generally prefer polycrystal panels.

However, thanks to technological advances in the field of monocrystal solar cells in recent years, such panels are on the rise again. In particular, Lorgi Group’s investments in this area have led to a shift in the balance of the solar panel market. Mono and poly ratio of solar panels to be installed in 2018 is said to be 50-50 per cent. After this point, monocrystal panels are expected to become dominant in the market.

Future of Solar Power

While both broken-records are extremely important for the expansion of solar energy, authorities believe JinkoSolar’s achievement is more valuable. Indeed, Fraunhofer ISE broke the efficiency record in N-type cells in “laboratory size” solar cells. And JinkoSolar broke a record in solar cells of suitable size, achieved a short-term success.

As in the case of poly- and mono-crystal solar cells, P-type and N-type preference is expected to change significantly in the sector. Although P-type semiconductors are preferred in solar panels today, the transition from P-type to N-type has accelerated recently. This preference is due to the solar panels with N-type semiconductor have higher efficiency.

Engineers will soon introduce this new solar cell technology and the modern production process into the mass production phase. The Fraunhofer ISE is a little further away from moving its new technology into mass production. But it has the potential to become one of the key players in the changing solar market in the future with its investment in the N-type solar panels.
